The last time I checked, numbers still added up. However, according to the leader of the free world, "the math has changed since Franklin Roosevelt was the president." Um, no.
Mr. Bush has held choregraphed conversations when discussing social security reform, which is to say there really is no conversation at all. Recall Argumentation and Debate 101 class: raise points to address both/all sides of an issue. Scripted discussions rule out opposing viewpoints, it stifles earnest dialogue, and it causes me to worry about the overall intent of the message Mr. Bush is trying to convey.
Sure we'll talk about social security, so long as I get to dictate what is discussed. Falsely packaged concern folks.
