Uber pretty Gael Garcia Bernal is the lead in Michel Gondry'sThe Science of Sleep. The plot summary sounds interesting, and I'm a fan of Gondry's last flick Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, although I didn't realize until recently that Gondry directed Dave Chappelle's Block Party. Nice mixing of mediums for him I suppose.
Then there's The Promise directed by Chen Kaige. Not a name as well known as Ang Lee or Wong Kar Wai, I suppose. But the photo stills are so rich and vivid. I'm trying not to be too critical about the storyline so far, but it's not working (what is it with stories about love in time of war?).
Speaking of Wong Kar Wai, I still need to catch Eros, mostly just for The Hand. Huh...that sounded rather naughty.
