This is me playing with a variation of a cd tree back in 2002 or 2003. I read about the idea from another discuss list and the basis of it was that instead of each person sending out a cd individually to another person, they'd make their cd, copy it X times, then ship it to a designated individual who would act as the "central hub" to sort the copies and mail it back to the others in the group en mass.

Not surprisingly, there were a few artists who overlapped, appearing on two cds: David Garza, Elvis Costello, Jeff Buckley. But more importantly, there was the discovery of new songs, new music, new artists to sit back and listen to and enjoy.
