Journals galore!

Have an upcoming swap that's journal related and while browsing at Vroman's on Friday, couldn't resist a big book of crafts by Montano. The book has tons of projects (tissue paper lamps, room dividers, tables), but what caught my eye, of course, were the paper crafts, or more specifically a journal.

Yes, yes, the A thing has gone into extensive detail on her adventures with Book Arts, and the amazing Photojojo has a video on what you can do with your vertical photos. Will have to try them all to see which is my favorite, or maybe combine the best ideas from each project, but in the meantime, better get cracking on filling those pages with words. (It's okay, I've a list).

And oh, have compiled a bag of "extras" that'll go along with the swap, but wouldn't want to spoil the surprise. :)

Materials & Cost (under $10: cheap and easy DIY journals)

Corrugated cardboard shipping box (FedEx/USPS, free)
Paper/fabric for cover ($2.00 for 2 sheets of zebra wrapping paper, Michael's)
Interior paper ($0.25 sale item, Michael's)
Journal paper (I used generic printing paper on hand)
Spray adhesive
X-acto
Ruler
Glue
Pencil
*Krylon Acrylic Crystal Clear, optional ($5.00, adds a pretty sheen to work, smells awful though and takes time to dry for those who are impatient!)

Materials from Photojojo that'll come in handy:
paintbrush
wax paper
clothespins or binder clips
big book or brick
